An art exhibition created by art students from Woodbrook Elementary will open in the Carmel Arts Council’s Children’s Art Gallery on November 4. This exhibition is the result of a project based on the Amazon rainforest.
Art students from Woodbrook began this school year studying many different aspects of the Amazon rainforest; its location, climate and the various types of plants and animals that occupy the rainforest.
Following these lessons the students focused on creating a specific component of the rainforest or an animal. Some of the subjects depicted ranged from the rainforest landscape, to poison dart frogs, sloths, snakes, birds and butterflies. In assembling this exhibit, the students worked with a variety of media to capture and create the subjects of their art projects.
