Youth Programs and Scholarships

In addition to the Children’s Art Gallery, Carmel Arts Council has a long tradition of sponsoring programs for youth in the community, from scholarship competitions to art and music contests to community events.

Young Performers Scholarships

Since 2006, the Carmel Arts Council has awarded scholarships to students who excel in musical, literary, performing, and visual arts. Competitions are held each spring, and are open to graduating seniors who reside in Carmel. For more information, please see the individual competition pages linked below.

Young Performers Showcase Piano and Instrumental Competition and Exhibition

Since 1998, Carmel Arts Council and Piano Solutions have sponsored the Young Performers Showcase as an opportunity for children to perform in front of an audience. Performers in grades K-12 can choose between competitive or non-competitive categories; awards are given for first, second, third, and honorable mention for the competitive categories.

 

2016 Spring Art Contest

Sponsored by the Carmel Arts Council, The Great Frame Up, and Soho Café and Gallery, the Spring Art Contest is open to students in grades K-12. Students are invited to submit new, original, spring-themed 2D art (8.5″ x 11″). Submissions must be delivered to Soho Café and Gallery by March 20, 2016.
