The 2014 Young Performers Scholarship Winners

One of the best parts of working with the Carmel Arts Council is giving our high school students a chance to show off their talents. Each year the CAC hosts its Young Performers Showcase, in which Carmel seniors compete in one of four scholarship competitions: Literary ArtsPerforming ArtsVisual Arts and Piano and Instrumental Arts.

This year with the help of our generous donors, the Council distributed $20,000 in scholarship money to the first and second place finishers across five areas of concentration in our four competitions.

You can read what each of our winners plans to do with their artistic talents as they head to college.

The Lucas Estates Sports Pavilion before the start of the Carmel Arts Council 20th anniversary gala

The Carmel Arts Council celebrated its 20th anniversary working in the local community with its “One Enchanted Evening” gala. More than 180 people gathered at the prestigious Lucas Estate Sports Pavilion in Carmel, Ind, on Saturday, November 2, 2013.

The evening started with passed appetizers and special Fuzzy Vodka cocktails. Chef Anthony Puma, a world famous chef, served guests a delicious filet and salmon dinner together with assorted specialty desserts.

During the evening a silent auction proved very successful along with a Raise the Paddle fundraiser for the Carmel Arts Council’s Young Performer Showcase Senior Scholarship Division.

Thousands of dollars were raised that will go toward qualified graduating seniors who want to continue their talents in the arts. Scholarships will be given to seniors in the following categories: Literary Arts, Visual Arts, Performing Arts and Piano/Instrumental Arts.

After dinner guests enjoyed dancing to the sounds of Henle and the Loops, a group of lawyers, dentists and doctors who are so talented they might want to reconsider their day jobs.

The Carmel Arts Council sincerely appreciates its Gold and Silver Sponsors for the evening:
